Umbretta

Frequently asked questions

Straight answers about how Umbretta works, how reviews are earned, and what to expect as a customer or provider.

What is Umbretta?

Umbretta is a two-sided services marketplace where anyone can post a service offering or a service request. Reputation is earned only from real, completed engagements, not paid placement or self-reported claims.

Do providers get reviewed too, or only customers rate providers?

Reviews go both ways. Customers rate providers, and providers rate customers on things like clarity of the request, cooperation, and payment reliability, so both sides build a public track record.

Can I both offer services and request them with the same account?

Yes. Every account can act as a provider, a customer, or both: there's no separate sign-up for each side, and your profile shows separate reputation for each role.

Does Umbretta handle payment or escrow?

Any agreement about price, timing, and payment is made directly between the customer and provider and settled off-platform; Umbretta is not a party to that agreement. Escrow payments are a planned future feature.

Is my contact information shared before I agree to work with someone?

No. Exact addresses and phone numbers are only revealed after a proposal is accepted, so you can compare offers and reputations first without exposing personal details up front.

What happens if something goes wrong between two users?

Try to resolve service issues directly with the other user first. Umbretta provides messaging, reporting, and dispute tools, but any review or decision is limited to platform administration (not legal, professional, or binding arbitration advice), and we do not guarantee recovery of money or completion of work.
